Everyone.net Appoints Thomas L. Marcus President and Chief Executive
Officer
New Senior Management Position Chartered With Expanding Company's
Leadership Role in Email Services
San Jose, CA — September 4, 2001 — Everyone.net, a leading email service
provider for individuals, groups, and businesses, today announced that
Thomas L. Marcus has joined the company as president and chief executive
officer. In his new position, Marcus expects to build on the success
of the Everyone.net network of nearly a million clients and more than
ten million registered users to further solidify Everyone.net as the
premier email service company.
Prior to his appointment at Everyone.net, Marcus was the chief operating
officer at The Valent Group, a venture operating company founded by
Accel Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners. Before The Valent Group,
Marcus served as executive vice president of Flycast Communications,
the Internet's leading direct response advertising network, which he
helped bring public in May 1999 and sell to CMGI for $2.3 billion in
January 2000. In addition to his experience at The Valent Group and
Flycast Communications, Marcus also spent 12 years at Broderbund Software,
most recently as vice president of business development and general
counsel. While at Broderbund, Marcus led the company's successful 1991
IPO, as well as the sale to The Learning Company in 1998.
